A scrumptious brunch – Satellite Cafe

I decided to give myself a break today, well after I had made breakfast. So for lunch we went to this lovely Satellite Cafe in Newtown where we ate delicious food that was thankfully not cooked by me.

Lovely ambiance, happy company, and honest food made a balmy cold Saturday afternoon, almost cheerful.

We had:

BEML2613[1]

Magic Mushrooms, 4 types of mushrooms with sage, confit garlic, leek, and spinach. Which was topped up some delicious Goats Feta cheese – I cannot tell you how delicious these mushrooms were and the cheese was just soft melting in my mouth making me swoon.

Yohji soba salad with strawberries, edamame, pickled ginger, red Pepper, nori, and Haloumi on top – This was such a refreshing salad, who would have thought you could have strawberries with noodles right.

FLGG5820[1]Tom of Finland sandwich which was smoked trout, dill tartare, beet & potato rosti, onion, Granny Smith apple, candies walnuts pan-fried in truckloads of butter – this was sin on a plate, the husband said he felt really guilty eating this sandwich

CSPM9401[1]

We washed all this down with chilled frappes. Overeating till we couldn’t eat anymore, we left with bellies full of lip-smacking goodness. Let me tell you my kitchen, and I be very happy with the break.
